SOLVED Linux Mint 14 Freezing Asus MB AMD Phenom

I"ve had trouble with Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon freezing. system would freeze in the middle of whatever I was doing. mouse and keyboard unresponsive. I'd have to press the reboot on the case to get it working, even then I'd sometimes have to reboot several times before I could even get the keyboard working enough to enter user name and password.

Searched for an answer, no joy. On a hunch I installed the latest bios and that has cured the freezes. Upgraded the Bios to the latest ver 1402, made one change in the bios to a CPU setting.

Haven't had a freeze since the upgrade.So far Uptime is 1 day, 6 hours and 34 minutes and counting.

Asus M3N78 Pro Motherboard
AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core CPU
8 GB RAM
GeForce GT 520 Video Card
Logitech M705 Mouse
Logitech K350 Keyboard
Linux 3.5.0-17-generic (x86_64)
Linux MInt 14 Nadia Cinnamon

What I did to solve this problem was to switch from the nouveau driver to the nvidia driver on my computer.
The nouveau driver caused repeated crashes.

So, if someone has problems with their nvidea GPU go here and read the answer.
