HDMI and DisplayPort monitors

Postby joshualibrarian on Sat Jan 05, 2013 1:38 am

Hello! I have installed the newest mint (14.1 x64) on this very nifty little "fit-pc3" computer. It works very well except for this little problem with one of the monitors. I have two IDENTICAL monitors plugged into the two different video ports, one into the HDMI and the other into the DisplayPort. The monitor plugged into the HDMI identifies fine in the graphical monitor configuration (listing as 'RIS 19"'), with various resolutions available up to 1360x768. The other monitor however (again, the exact same kind of monitor) which is plugged into the DisplayPort shows as "Unknown" with a maximum resolution of 1024x768. I want both monitors at 1360x768! Any ideas?

Here is the output of "xrandr":

Code: Select all
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2384 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
HDMI-0 connected 1360x768+1024+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 410mm x 230mm
   1360x768       60.0*+
   1280x768       60.0
   1024x768       75.1     70.1     60.0
   1024x576       60.0
   800x600        72.2     75.0     60.3     56.2
   848x480        60.0
   640x480        72.8     75.0     60.0
   720x400        70.1
DisplayPort-0 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768       60.0*
   800x600        60.3     56.2
   848x480        60.0
   640x480        59.9
VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

And here is the output of "inxi -G":

Code: Select all
Graphics:  Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Wrestler [Radeon HD 6320]
           X.Org: 1.13.0 drivers: ati,radeon (unloaded: fbdev,vesa) Resolution: 1360x768@60.0hz, 1024x768@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on AMD PALM GLX Version: 2.1 Mesa 9.0

THANK YOU!

C'mon, 44 views and no responses. Please!

Furthermore, when I suspend the computer and bring it back up, the monitor no longer shows as "unknown", however the monitor's image is off-center, and the adjustment on the monitor can't bring it back into line.
