Vinoman, I have the same laptop and same set-up.
I can confirm that the wifi works fine once installed (although you may have to change drivers depending on how they perform for you, I'm using the Broadcom 'wl' ones).
The install is a bit more involved than just creating a partition and installing. In fact I wrote up exactly how I did it here >
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=121912I installed rEFInd to have a prettier front-end than grub, but it'll work as it is.
p.s. How do you find the touchpad in windows 8? I hate the way it works, way too sensitive and twitchy, random clicks you didn't makes etc.
