<SOLVED> - Media streaming from an LG SP520

Ok, I've got a house server running LMint13, with a secondary hard drive mounted and sharing my Movies, music, pix, etc. across the network. All my computers Windows or otherwise can see and stream files through XBMC with no trouble.
Now, I've gotten an LG SP520 media box connected to my TV. In the network list, it can see all of the computers on my network plus the server with its shared folders. However, it cannot access the files within the shared folders.
The manual says I need CIFS sharing. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to configure CIFS through Samba but I don't think I'm doing it right.
The shared drive looks like this:
media/Storage/Video/Movies
media/Storage/Music
media/Storage/Pictures (you get the idea).
My command-line knowledge is still struggling from the DOS days, but I'm getting the hang of how the folder structure works.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
