[SOLVED] PL2303 Prolific USB to Serial convertor problem

I have finally decided that I no longer need Wondoze and have therefore just moved from Linux Mint 12 (Dual Boot) to Linux Mint 14 (32 bit) Cinnamon Edition (overwriting the previous partitions).
I have now noticed that my PL2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. USB to Serial convertor cable no longer works, whereas it did in my dual boot environment.

I have followed the excellent advise found here:

But my USB to Serial cable still doesn't work.

Anyone have any idea on how I can get this to work?
