Acer Extensa 5220 & 56K-Modem

Hi,

I've made a fresh install of Linux Mint Daryna on my Acer Notebook, which runs Debian Etch as well and I'm really enthusiastic about it! Things seem to work very well so far. I installed the Linuxant-Driver for the builtin modem with the cnxtinstall.run-Shellscript as recommended. But now my machine fails to boot. Some issue when loading kernel modules, i think. Looks like I have to reinstall...

Anybody here who has some experience with the installation of this driver on this particular machine?

Or is there anybody who can recommend me a a USB-Modem, which will work out-of-the-box?

but it's not the wireless making problems, it's the oldschool 56K-analog-modem.

Post the result of lspci (in a terminal) and use the Code option when you paste
I don't promise anything, but I might find something out when I see what you have (provided the modem works)

I don't see any analog Modem on this list...

Is it external? - No a notebook
Well lets see what lsusb gives
Some notebooks have internal components hooked up to USB
OH and if you do find it there google for the bus id you find - that gives surprisingly good results
