I just installed Mint 14. When I boot I get a constant repeating tone. The sound settings only list the 5850 HDMI HD audio though when I run alsamixer the C media chip set is one of the options. I select the sound card but still nothing in the sound settings. I have a Turtle Beach Montego DDL with a C-Media 8769 chip. I had Mint 12 installed and don't remember any issues with the sound.

Not that this will help you in any way, but I had (no)sound issues with Mint 14 x64. Running LTS 13x64 now. Works great.

Anyone with any ideas? The same issue happened with 13. I would like to get this resolved or I might have to bail on Mint.
