I connected my internal 20 Pin USB 3.0 with my case. There is one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port at the front.
I tried to connect my USB3 HDD with the front USB3 port, and nothing works. dmesg says following:

When I connect the HDD with the USB2 port everything works. The rear USB3 port also work. And when I connect a USB2 device to the front USB3 port it also works.
Only my USB3 HDD doesn't work on this port (unfortunately I wasn't able to try other USB3 devices). But in the BIOS/UEFI I can see the HDD in the boot menu.
So I checked the Manual of the Main board (ASUS P8Z77-M PRO) and is saw the following point:
Due to Intel® limitations, the USB3_12 only supports Windows® 7 operating system.
Does that mean, that the port only supports Windows? What other reason can that have?
OS: Linux Mint 14 - Cinnamon
Mainboard: ASUS P8Z77-M PRO
