Specs:
Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor
2GB AMD Radeon HD 7970M Graphics
I select "Start Linux Mint" from the boot menu and it outputs (over and over):
udevd[143]: timeout: killing '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v00008086d00000166sv00001028sd00000551bc03sc00i00' [259]
And finally when it gives up, it outputs one last line:
udevadm settle - timeout of 120 seconds reached, the event queue contains:
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0 (1204)
Ubuntu will install version 12.04. I just checked LM13 and it seems to boot fine.
I thought I'd post here before lodging bug reports. Work arounds appreciated! =)
Also, this is kinda freaky, that this laptop (which may be somewhat popular) will give any users attempting to test out the latest linux distros a negative experience that they may not know how to cope with. How do these kinds of compatibility issues usually get resolved? Do the GPU ppl need to change their firmware before shipping more out? Or do the linux ppl tend to do 14.2 when they catch enough of the problems that these vendors keep creating?
