Ubuntu Certified Hardware

Post by vaaaaaaaaarney »

I am considering buying a new laptop in the future and installing the latest version of Mint on it. I've got Mint 14 MATE on my HP G62-347CL and although the experience is generally very good there are a few hangups that drive me up the wall. Would "Ubuntu Certified Hardware" give me a better "out of the box" experience or are Ubuntu and Mint unrelated in this case? I'm looking for a 13" or 15" laptop to install my 8GB RAM and an SSD into. Thanks for your thoughts!

Without knowing exactly what "Ubuntu Certified Hardware" is, I can only say that if Ubuntu runs well on it, so will Mint in 99% of the cases (the 1% being the different DE which could in theory have problems with your particular graphics card).
