[Solved]Min14-Microsoft Comfort Mouse - reasign buttons

Postby RudeViper on Tue Feb 12, 2013 5:23 am

I'm using LinuxMint 14 Mate 64 edition and a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500 5 button mouse. I need to change the function of mouse button 5 (the one next to the right index finger - your right thumb goes there)...Right now it triggers the backspace key - so if I am looking in a web browser it moves me back to previous page. It is also the transmit button for my VOIP Client (mangler) that I use so I need to kill the web browser function of the button.

I have looked for the solution here and on google, and so far the only suggestions I have seen are for btnx and imwheel and neither seem to exist anymore.

I tried going to the mouse config through preferences and the extra mouse buttons do not appear on the panel.

Any suggestions?
I finally found this site and it's information worked. http://askubuntu.com/questions/52139/ho ... umb-button
