Postby Nu2Mint on Tue Feb 12, 2013 3:57 pm

I am running Mint 13 (32 Bit). And the printer I am trying to install is a HP 3522 Wireless.
Have downloaded hplip, to Desktop. And from Terminal cd Desktop, next line sh Selected Automatic. And the process begins. This done 6 times.
It uninstalls previous versions, and copies new version. It checks for updates.
At the end I select continue, I am installing a wireless printer (HP Deskjet 3522). No need to plug in the printer or restart the PC.
The following screen is the always the same screen presented in the 5 previous attempts.
I am presented withthe screen connect the USB cable temporarily.
Step 1 USB Cable connected.
Step 2 Wireless capable device found
Step 3 & 4 I enter the SSID I enter the 26digit Key. The connection is made.
All normal to step 5 Your printer has been successfully configured on the wireless network. You may now unplug the USB cable.
Click Finish. Print test page does not appear.

Close Setup the Terminal Screen is still there. In RED lettering.
Error: Unable to lock /home/don/.hplip/hp-systray.lock.
Is hp-systray already running. My responce yes. I am looking at the hp icon (hplip status service) in the lower right hand corner of the screen, yes??

HP Device Manager, HP Deskjet 3520 Series, displays a yellow triangle, when it is clicked it then displays a RED X next to the printer. The printer does not print.

HP Check Utility hp-check -t Results are
Error: Unable to cummunicate with device (Code-12) hp:/usb/Deskjet_3520_series ? Serial=CN28U14FZ405SY
Error: Device not found
Error: Communication Status: Failed

Warning Device URI: (Makeuri Failed)

I installed this printer new 12-22-2012 on Ubuntu 12.0.4 Successful
I installed this printer in Windows 7 Successful.

I need your help. What am I missing.
