Change Ownership Permission Firewire & USB Flash Drive Disks

Hi everyone,

I've just installed Linux Mint on my Apple iMac and dual boot using the eFLit Boot Manager.

I last used Linux many years ago, long before Firewire and USB drives existed.

I need to change the ownership of my WD Firewire Disks and my USB Flash Drive so that I can use them on Linux Mint, how do I proceed?
