Xerox 6121MFP print & scanner support

first up, I'm a newbie so need clarity in answers please

New install of Mint, hooked up to a home LAN (wired), Lenovo T400: on my net is a Xerox Phaser 6121MFP

I've added the printer and printed out the test page - so far so good. Now I'd like to get the scanner/copier running. For Win/Mac, Xerox produced a (crappy) dashboard to manage scanning but I can't find anything like that for Linux
