Although when I try to hibernate or shut down the machine it wont power off once it finishes whatever it does when it shuts down or hibernates. It just stops on a black and white dos-like with the shut-down reports or whatever they are running down the screen ending with a power down at the bottom, but nothing happens after that. I have to hold the button to turn off the machine. It restarts, boots and wakes from hibernate perfectly.
I don't know what's wrong. When I had PCLinuxOS installed it shut-down fine. When I had windowsXP installed I had to enable the legacy ACPI mode for it to shut down. Is their a legacy mode I can use? Or a legacy driver I can download?
Although I have used linux before it's only as a general purpose desktop machine so I don't know alot about it, I know enough to get by. If you could explain things clearly I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Edit: I've taken a photo of the shut down screen with my phone and I've uploaded it just in case anything important is on it.
