Finally came back to Linux Mint 14 (Nadia, x64, KDE), with my new machine (selfbuilt computer).
I got the following problem: I heared the startup-sound and the shutdown-sound. Nothing more. Checked the settings several times. Downloaded the Realtek ALC892 driver (Link: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow ... wn=false#2 tryed the 3.0 linux/unix driver) installed it and restarted. Now all drivers were deactivated in the settings, except a "Dummy output". Now I hear nothing. With boxes connected to a audio-jack (tryed front and backpanel-jack) I hear some random noises when opening windows n stuff, but not a clear "audio".
Anyone got an idea how could I get this fixed? I really wanted to stay at linux this time so I'm ready to try a whole lot if necessary.
My system:
ASUS M5A97 EVO Mainboard
AMD FX-4170 Quad CPU
GTX550TI
16gigs of ram (Transcend 4x4gb)
System is on a ssd, /home on hdd (dont think that this is relevant)
Will clap for help!
And sorry for my bad english
Regards,
Proxymity
