Actiontec 802AIN

Postby pcallycat on Tue Mar 12, 2013 1:10 pm

I've an actiontec usb wifi unit..model 802AIN that I cannot for the life of me get to work. staring at dmesg, it looks like it tries...then the device doesn't communicate. relevant info below, any help with where to look for the problem would be hugely appreciated. From everything I can google up, the chipset is supported, the unit requires usb_modeswitch to be installed (it is).

[sudo] password for me:
Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service smbd reload

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the reload(8) utility, e.g. reload smbd
