Headphone Jack not detected/working

So I recently built a new machine for myself, I have audio working through the ports on my motherboard and it comes out my speakers as it should. However, with the headphone jack on the front of my case if I plug my headphones in my speakers don't mute and nor does any sound come out of my headphones. My headphones do work I have tested them.

Now I've seen alot of people from my various googling sessions saying to modify alsa-base.conf with the model number of your sound chip-set as per a text file they link to on the ALSA Project website, my card is not listed there. Not entirely sure what to try to be honest. Info below, if you need more ask.

Running: Mint 14 - Cinnamon x64
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1-Sniper-M3
