Keyboard shuts off.

Hi,
I'm running Linux Mint Gnome Daryna on my laptop and the keyboard shuts off at random times. Has this happened to anyone else and if so is there a way to fix this?

Well, first off (Though it shouldn't matter):

What type of keyboard is it?
Is the wire starting to give on the USB?

I know what type of keyboard is it is a stupid question, however, i had a mouse that worked with my dad's windows machine, but not on my linux machine, so it could be a similar type of thing

It's my laptop keyboard not an external. I would think if I could do a quick restart with ctrl+alt+backspace it may reset it and it'd start working again but my keyboard doesn't work so there's no doing that. If I restart the machine the keyboard works again for a while then stops again at random times.
