Mint and Speedtouch 330 modem

How do you get this to work with the speedtouch modem 330 . Not been able so far with any linux distro to get connected to the net

This worked for Ubuntu Dapper for me:

Also, have used this:
http://steve-parker.org/speedtouchconf/ for Suse. Cannot test on Mint as no longer have Speedtouch:

Actually the latest version of Aurox (a fork of Fedora Core) is able to do that. However, I do not recommend this distro because:
- it is discontinued
- it is very buggy

PS I suggested to support SpeedTouch 330 in Mint 2.2 because this type of ADSL modem is one of the most popular in Europe, however, installing it is like pain in the a**. Long lasting and definitely not pleasant
