ALC880 Mic does not work

Hello
I cannot get working build in microphone and headphone's mic on skype or sound recorder. I almost tried everything and googled many blogs and forums.
I have got Fujitsu-Siemens Pi 1556. Please help.

I don't know it it helps for ICH7 but you could try some of the solutions suggested for ICH8

I had the same problem... First I had to complete the following steps:

A) Righ-click on the speaker in the task bar and select Open Volume Control.

B) Select Edit from the menu, and then select Preferences.

C) Click on the boxes besides Capture and Capture 1.

D) Now your microphone should be working.

And then I had to try every input device in the Skype options menu by calling echo123.

I had this same problem and I had to do a step between C & D to get my microphone working...

C-1) The 'Recording' tab should now be visible to the right of the 'Playback' tab - click on the tab and ensure the microphone is enabled (click on the microphone icon if it has a red cross).
