Hi!
I recently upgraded my Acer AO722 laptop by installing SSD. Win7 starter installed fine, Mint 14 KDE too, but it turned out KDE was too slow for my expectations - no difference between Mint 13 KDE on hdd and Mint 14 KDE on ssd. With open source radeon drivers and with ATI catalyst drivers.
So I decided to try Mint 14 MATE 64bit, no proprietary drivers. I can say it's way more faster and responsive, so I decided to try it a little longer, but I have one problem and I cant conclude if it's because of different kernel in Mint 14 (than in 13) or because of Mate itself.
When running on battery - everything is fine... temperature and performance.
When running on AC - temperature rises up to 10 degrees in Celsius and performance slightly begins to drop. Further more, it boots from cold boot, but when restarting with AC on, screen goes black right after grub menu and login screen never appears and fan is always on... have to hard power it down.
Should I install Jupiter or some kind of similar app?

Re: Mint 14 MATE 64 bit, battery issue + overheating
Update:
Now I'm certain that this has nothing to do with powered DC on, blank screen happens when on battery too, mainly after reboot, but sometimes upon cold boot, too. It seems that the Mate has been loged in normally, just I don't see anything because the screen is black. As if it started with some wierd resolution the screen can not show. Please guys, advise, what log should I provide? I'm one step from away from trying with Mate 13...

Never mind, it's obvious it's a kernel issue.
