DDR3 Motherboard Question

Hey all, i just purchased my new mobo and its a Intel Desktop Board DX48BT2, it has 1600Mhz FSB and all sorts of cool new nifty features for the future. There is no spot for a keyboard or a mouse, i guess they are looking towards the future. either way my question is this board only excepts DDR3 Ram. Well i have some on order, so no big deal. But as far as Graphics cards go. Do i have to get a card that is DDR3 also. Or or will a nice Nvidia ddr2 work, such as BFG's 8400 gs. that is a lower end card, and i plan on upgrading, just waiting for more cash. the ram already set me back a bit.

No you don't need anything more from your video board than compatibility and that's got nothing to do with memory type - mind you video boards have had DDR3 a long time now (on mobos with DDR2)

The new ATI cards are getting DDR5... Faster memory provides greater bandwidth, which only comes into use with extreme 3D applications/games - Crysis for example. The 9600GT is the best bang for the buck card now, it can be picked up for $99.... that's the card I would get now if I was shopping around.
