Postby DevinHester on Sun Jun 15, 2008 6:53 am

Hello,

currently the touchpad of my Samsung R70 is not working.

My xorg.conf:

Code: Select all

    Identifier     "Layout0"
    Screen      0  "Screen0" 0 0
    InputDevice    "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
    InputDevice    "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
EndSection

Section "Files"
    RgbPath         "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb"
EndSection

Section "Module"

    Load           "extmod"
    Load           "type1"

    Option         "XkbLayout" "de"
    Option         "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier      "Synaptics Touchpad"

EndSection

    HorizSync       30.0 - 110.0
    VertRefresh     50.0 - 150.0
    Option         "DPMS"
EndSection

Section "Device"
    Identifier     "Device0"
    Driver         "nvidia"

Section "Screen"

    Option         "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"
    SubSection     "Display"
        Depth       24
    EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
    Option         "Composite" "enable"

So, what is missing or incorrect?

Thank's a lot!

Which Mint?
I don't think InputDevice should be in Section "ServerLayout"
I also feel uncertain about Section "Files" and Section "Module"
and I don't have the file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb but that's got nothing to do with your touchpad :)
There is a driver called synaptic(s?) for touchpads which is installed by default in Elyssa but I don know about earlier editions
Search for synaptic in synaptic :)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

elyssa, tosh satellite l25 intel 1.7

synaptic touchpad working from fresh install except a direct one step way to activate back and forward buttons. at present, I strike the pad with 3 fingers and get a back, forward, reload drop down which works fine but isn't as quick as I would prefer.
