Hello. I searched the forums but couldn't find the solution to this.
I have 3 external drives that I had in a while.
WD of 160GB - Partition: W95 FAT32 (LBA) - Contents: NTFS
WD of 500GB - Partition: HPFS/NTFS - Contents: NTFS
Lacie of 1TB - Partition: HPFS/NTFS - Contents: NTFS
I'm facing problems in all of them:
The WD FAT32 one I can not use in Mac, it does not mount.
The other 2 can mount in mac but I guess that due to permissions its not possible to copy things into them.
The 2 WD work fine, but the Lacie has permissions issues, I can not copy stuff into it.
I did not try them on other Linux boxes.
I use these drives as backup and archive for work and media, and I pass them around quite a lot. How do I make the drives be fully accessible by everyone in ether Mac Win or Linux?
I have really no knowledge at all about permissions, command line and such, is there a simple way I can follow to fix these?
Also regarding the future, should I change the format of the drives? What is the best external disk format to work cross platform?
Thanks for the help!
