When booting up, the kernel will load the modules listed in /etc/modules. Instead of editing the file, adding the module, saving it and exiting you can do this: sudo echo modulename >> /etc/modules
>> is a redirection that says append to file.
Or, if you're like me, I enabled the root acct and use su, not sudo. So.. # echo modulename >> /etc/modules.
I will bite my tongue regarding sudo.
