I can't guarantee it but I think it'll work fine
It is on the new side but the chipset has been around a while

I have the same motherboard, and it's given me nothing but problems when running Linux. I've done some poking around and found it may be related to the ATI SB600 Southbridge this particular motherboard uses. It seems that it doesn't play nice with some of the ATI video cards, so my machine spontaneously freezes / reboots. Now I'm looking forward to buying something like the ASUS M3N78-VM AM2+ GeForce 8200, which has much better Linux support.

@ ktraglin
Thanks - I did not find anything in particular in a quick googling

I made that mistake. The Ubuntu Hardy install disk can't make the ethernet port work---I wound up having to buy a PCI ethernet card. And to add insult to injury, the nvidia drivers work very badly with the GeForce 8200---lots of tearing on the screen. I'm not happy with the mobo.
