hello all. I installed Mint (4) about a week ago, and just now connected my printer (IP 4500) as well as downloaded the official .deb file drivers from Canon's Website. Do I need to reboot in order to finish the install, or should Mint just pick it up straight away ? I'm assuming the former perhaps, because it won't print at the moment. Or is it just that the official drivers just don't work under Mint 4 in any case ? If so, has anyone gotten an Canon IP4500 to work successfully ?
I used to use different drivers under Ubuntu (can't remember the name of the company) which would allow printing up to 300 dpi before asserting their company logo for color prints above that resolution, and it worked fine for me for text. Thanks.
Doug
