not able to get graphics as before

Hi friends....i'm not able to get graphics as good as before.....previously when i pressed ctl+alt+ -> i used to get the rotating desktop.....but now i'm getting options like desk1,desk2,desk3,desk4.....and i'm, also not able to drag one window from one desktop to another......anybody help me.....

if you have ati or nvidia based video you have to install the drivrs, see administration - hardware drivers
once installed you can tweak the graphics using various preferences
- appearance - visual effects tab, or
- simple compiz setting manager, or
- advanced desktop effects settings
