Umax Astraslim AS6000 Scanner

Hi All
Trying to get my scanner to work, but xsane says no scanner found!!
Do i need a driver for this to work ? and where can i get it from ?
oh its a usb scanner.

EDIT:
When i do lsusb in terminal i get
howard@howard-desktop ~ $ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 080d:0104 Teco Image Systems Co., Ltd
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

Hope this helps in trying to sort this out

Which version of Mint?
There's a considerable difference between versions in this respect

This is one I have almost given up on
Impossible to find any Linux driver for Umax or Teco with USB
On the other hand it's reported that support is built in in SANE
In Daryna and earlier I had to add my scanner to a file, but this is no longer used in Elyssa and I don't know how it's done in Elyssa (this is for an unrecognized scanner)
