No sound output after upgrade to Mint 16

Post by 2sondad »

Hi,

I've been using Mint for a few years and have no issues at all until after upgrading to 16.

I'm running a Dell Latitude 630 and I have checked all the volume settings. Kind of lost now, as I've tried a things with no success.

Any help?

Thanks!

Try
$ rm -rf ~/.pulse
$ rm -rf ~/.config/pulse

When that doesn't work, try purging/reinstalling pulse and alsa.

OK apparently I needed to run apt-get upgrade one more time. I did and now everything works.

I have a very similar problem, but my very limited knowledge of Mint (or Linux in general) is not sufficient to copy your successful solution. Could you please describe the steps that helped you?

Thank you.

I think he's just saying he ran an update using the comand sudo apt-get update in a terminal window. You can also update using the update manager
