How does infrared receiver connect to motherboard?

Postby davidshane on Sat Jul 26, 2008 12:34 pm

We had to replace a motherboard that was damaged by a power surge, but now I'm at a loss as to how to reconnect one of the cables from the infrared receiver / card reader combo. It looks like a linear 10 pin connector, but only the first 6 pins are wired. Anybody have experience with this?

Yep. Should have made a note of where it connected on the old motherboard. I know, I know.

It is impossible to say from here. It might help if you give us the mobo /makemodel and the receiver make/model so we could get some kind of idea what your dealing with.
