I've just migrated from OpenSUSE 11.0 to LinuxMint Elyssa (installed Mint in wife's computer and fell in love with it...) and, so far, I like the change.
There is something, though, that I miss from SUSE. I had this problem with Ubuntu in the past: installing my scanner.
With Ubuntu (and now also with Mint) I had to install libsane-extras and then I had to tweek a bit with epson.conf and epkowa.conf (that tweeking, at the time, took me hours of googling...). When I switched to SUSE 11.0, that problem vanished: I just had to install a pakage named something like "epson-proprietary-drivers" and then, via Yast, go to Hardware --> Scanner--> Detect --> Install.
I certainly would love to see such a feature in Mint! It's the only thing that made me sigh with the switch, since I'm in a phase of my life in which I want to work more with my computer and work less for the computer.
Is it a hard thing to do? Is it a driver issue? Does SUSE has any kind of partnership with Epson that it's not allowed in other distros?
Thanks for the attention and congrats on this great distro!
