<SOLVED>Running Mint 16 MATE - mouse unstable

Postby chroma601 on Thu Apr 24, 2014 4:13 pm

I don't know if it's a driver issue, but the mouse plugged into my HP laptop moves the cursor on its own. This happens with different mice, as well as with the laptop's touchpad. Are there alternate generic mouse drivers out there? (I'm relatively new to Linux).

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

No replies so far, so let me try another question. How might one replace or reinstall the mouse driver? Again, using Mint 16 MATE 32 bit.

EDIT, 5/9/14 - After an update, the problem disappeared. As there were several updates, I can't say which one restored stability but I'm happy it happened. System back to 100%.

Hi,

I'm running Mint 16 Cinnamon and have a mouse ptoblem. On bootup mouse always sticks. I have to unplug and reconnect USB to get mouse pointer to move.
Mouse is Logitech MBT96a. Works OK with WXP.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem. Is there a special Linux driver for this mouse?
