I've been using Mint for several years now & adore it above all other distros. My Asus HE1000 is getting alittle long in the tooth & Win 7 isn't the best on it so I decided to try #!. Debian based, which was limiting, but my WiFi would get an IP addresses but unable to communicate with anything. Wires network no issue. "Ok", I think, "I'll just install LinuxMint again abut run OpenBox. That should be a nice hybrid". Same issue. Thinking it might be an issue with a recent release of Ubuntu, I tried Mint 13LTS. Same issue.
My WiFi card connects to the network fine and picks up an IP address, but can only talk to itself. One thing I have noticed (but don't know if its related to the issue) is I get the pop up notification that I'm connected before the network icon in the tray switches over. That takes about 30 seconds to a minute.
Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing a driver?
