Switching between integrated and pci soundcards...solved

Hi to everybody in the community, I'm from Venezuela so don't expect perfect prose here. I'm pretty new to Linux and have a very old home machine 1.5G PIV, 256 Mb, 80G HDD. I tried many LiveCD distros and finally decided for Mint to give it the dual boot treatment, because was nice, complete and everything worked fine. The strange thing is I didn't get any sound at the beggining like in the LiveCD session: I started searching through the Forum and found some advice. Finally I discovered that Mint was using the integrated soundcard on my motherboard. I prefer to use the standalone PCI soundcard, which is my default option in Windows, because have more options and better sound quality, for me. I don't like to switch connections everytime I switch OS, so please help me to put the PCI card to work, just like it worked with LiveCD. I've tried with the Mixer and nothing. Start with disabling the built in audio in the BIOS - it should be possible to do that

Husse, I solved the problem following your advice> disabling the integrated audio in the BIOS. Now I can use the same soundcard for both OS. You rule, thank you.
