Have you tried other USB ports with the wireless adapter?
Yes i have tried 4 usb ports
Power management might be messing it up also, try
What is the connection to the power management
so your saying that my adapter should work now ? Do I have the right drivers ? Is everything to your safisfaction then ?
thanks,
Nate
Your drivers seem to be the right ones compared to other info I have found even with people who had the same device working. Power management on wireless devices can cause problems. The only other thing I can think of that might cause the issues is that the USB connector on the wifi has been damaged and it might have a broken solder joint

Where in that file do i find drivers I dont' see anything that mentions linksys.

That is a bit funny because the 2 that do not work are physicly fine the one that does work the wirelessG is bent both ways and wiggles when you put it in the machine. The netgear I actually had to find a driver to get it too work with windows . It was not working in either windows or linux. and the linux AE2500 wireless n is brand new and in windows it works great ...
So if it's power management in my computer how do I look for that ? I actually do not see anything about power management in the main menu.
changing from wpa to wpa2 have fixed some problems, don't ask why it fixed my connection in france on my mothers internet (took me hours trying every possible setting)
I'd say for wifi check with the folks at http://www.kali.org/ they have tried a lot of cards and just dropped some
PatH57 :
In my Network settings when i click on the network arc in notification panel I see security: wpa, wpa2. That is where it is set .... How do i change it to something else ?
Jeremy :
This is what I got
nate@nate /usr/src/ndiswrapper-1.59 $ iwconfig | grep power
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
nate@nate /usr/src/ndiswrapper-1.59 $
What does that mean ? I will look up wireless extensions
hmmmm how would I do that ? Would i go on the internet to get it or take it off the CD? I would not know how to install a windows driver on linux. Is there a button on the router to set wpa? Or is it done with the software . I don't remember how to get to that software.
Hi, you do not need ndiswrapper remove it and open synaptic (package manager) and type in broadcom and remove all of the ones in that section that are installed.
Then run these commands
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter && sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
Then disconnect your wired connection and restart your computer.
