How can I change that left shift + o produces a captial O?
Its really really! annoying having one key that cannot become a captial and have to use the right shift for it.... The right shift is basically the only key I do not use on the keyboard.
I tried looking into the keyboard shortcut settings but could not find the shift+o combination there. It doesnt appear to be doing anything specific either.
I am using linux mint 17 standard out of the box.
My keyboard layout is English(us international)
Left shift + o doesnt work, rightshift + o does

Re: Left shift + o doesnt work, rightshift + o does
Left shift + o does indeed produce a capital. So it's not a problem with the default settings, it's a glitch specific to your machine.
Probably hardware. First thing to do is test another keyboard.

For anyone else having this problem... it was because my F8 key was stuck by a crumb in the down position. By unsticking it it resolved itself.
Weird that only SHIFT+o was affected.
