Thinkpad x61 volume button

Postby ossified65 on Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:57 pm

Has anyone gotten these to work? Mute works, but not vol up or down. I have searched the web, but the discussion quickly gets me in over my head.

Did you try setting it in Keyboard Shortcuts?

yes, but it doesn't work. if i enter the command in the terminal it adjusts the sound, but I can't get the function to map onto the keys.

I am using Mint on a Thinkpad T61 and all my volume buttons worked and I didn't need to do any configuring, they just worked on install and liveCD.

I just posted over in the xfce edition forum, I just logged into my gnome session and the buttons worked perfectly. Obviously the problem is with the buttons and xfce, does anyone know how to deal with this?
