BUild-In webcam and mp3 player problem

Postby wildflower on Mon Dec 01, 2008 1:00 am

Hello guys!

My Lenovo laptop has a build-in camera attached to it. Usually WinBlows would automatically recognise it and it's ready for use. But it's different in Linux here (of course) so my question is How to get it working here? I google it hoping there's a driver for linux but tough luck! :?

Second, i have a mp3 player, chinese brand and it's working like a usb where you can usually drag the files. But when i plug it, the system does recognise the mp3 player but for only 2 seconds? After that, it's nowhere to be find and use :( This is strange since my digicam and usb drive works perfectly in here...

Sorry if i sounds like a total amateur since this is the first time i'm using Linux.

Thanks in advance!!

We have to figure out what you have
Run lspci in a terminal and post the result here
Then connect the mp3 player and run lsusb and post the result

Ah - there was a mp3 player too...
Not present in lsusb, don't know why and consequently also don't know what kind
Can you try to find out as much as possible about it.
I don't recognize that kind of behaviour, and I for sure have not experienced it myself (but lots of other strange things :))
