Login screen disappears

Postby nhigh on Mon Dec 15, 2008 9:46 pm

I have a HPw2207 monitor with a suggested screen resolution of 1650 x 1050 @ 60hz. I installed Felicia and it did not detect my monitor, but gave a generic resolution of 1280 x 1024 @ 0hz. This is not a problem until I log out. When I log out, the login screen stays blank even though I can hear the sound effect. If I reboot, the login screen appears just fine. It's only when I log out rather than rebooting the system that I can't see the login screen. I ran Mint 5 and never had a problem. Other than the login screen issue, everything else works fine. While I am not a novice with Linux, I am by no means a technical person, so any help that I could get that isn't too technical is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I have a problem finding a solution...
If you just log out and do nothing are you automatically loged in again?
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
