Thinkpad boot and mouse problems

Thinkpad(s) hang on boot up
When starting Thinkpad's with Elyssa, the system will hang-up on the Mint screen if the laptop is plugged into a power source. Leaving the laptop start without being plugged in the system will boot normally. I have encountered this problem with numerous Thinkpad models including T22, T23, T30, A30 and X22.
In addition, Elyssa will not configure the three button mouse correctly, not recognizing the scroll button on any of the models.
Is there any information available to solve this problem?
Thank you

/etc/X11/xorg.conf should have a section like this for a mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel that is a button too
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
EndSection
I have not seen the error connected/not connected before and there are quite a few Thinkpads with Mint
Can you look in the logs (System log in the menu) and see if you notice any differences
