help needed with intel graphics card

hello every1,
i jus started using linuxmint 6.0 on my desktop n im lovin it. though i got 1 huge problem. even though i have a 1280X1024 resolution, my video flickers n i can't enable any desktop effects at all. i already have the latest intel drivers or so the terminal says. System>Administration>Hardware Drivers" does not show any drivers as well. Please help!!

P.S: "$ sudo lshw -C display" gives the following result:

The Intel driver is built in to Mint per se, so you don't have to enable it.

Try this:

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

thnx for all the help but i already tried the command..........
didn work on ubuntu/linuxmint.
i guess the newer kernels don get along with the older chipset. i jus migrated to openSuse 11.1.
graphics card is working fine! n im likin it.
