Drivers and support for Dimension 4700 motherboard.

Hey there!
Mint is up and running fine on my Dell Dimension 4700 Motherboard, everything was fine, even the network drivers, except for the sound drivers.

I can't find the linux drivers for the integrated sound on the mother board at all.

When i go into the sound preferences and select autodetect from the dropdown menu, and press test i receive the following error:

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument

Any help is appreciated, I just have the desktop running as a media server on my colleges network.

Figured it out.

Always remember to check to make sure you didn't turn off the onboard sound in the BIOS like 6 years ago when you used to have a sound card.

lesson learned.
