Displaylink Samsung LD220 Monitors

Post by cloos »

Hello,

im searching for an Solution for the following configuration.
I have a Samsung R780 notebook and 3 Samsung LD220 monitors which are connected via USB (displaylink)
In Windows everything is working fine, but in Linux, here Mint 17.3, it is not working.
Nothing helps...

Im no linux crack, but i need then to run under linux. im already searching since 2 years, but everytime i give up after a couple of days of searching, reading and trying...
But now i decided to write an own Topic here.
Maybe someone knows a solution not only for Mint 17.3 but for all Ubuntu derivates... and future linux updates...

greez

DisplayLink technology was not supported in Linux until the release of Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, which Mint 17 is based on. A DisplayLink driver is now available for Ubuntu, so it would be easiest to use your DisplayLink USB 3.0 device by running Ubuntu. Get it at the website in the link below. It also has info for using it in other Linux distros, which will require some manual configuration:

http://support.displaylink.com/knowledg ... -available

The info on that web page says:
This driver will support up to 2 displays connected to DisplayLink devices. More than 2 DisplayLink displays may work, but not supported or tested by DisplayLink
Mint 17.3 is required to use the DisplayLink driver:

Minimum supported Linux Kernel version is 3.16.
Minimum supported Xorg version is 1.16.
