Acer Aspire 5315-2153 Wireless card problem(s)! PLEASE HELP!

Postby NateFlax on Mon Feb 09, 2009 4:44 pm

I just removed Windows Vista last night and Installed Windows XP. Earlier I setup and installed the dualboot with Linux Mint 6.0.
Everything installed perfectly fine. All the right drivers work and everything, except for my wireless card... :(

It's like it doesn't even notice I have a wireless card in my laptop. I tried running a CAT5/Ethernet Cable into my laptop to get internet. I just updated Mint a few minutes ago, but my wireless card still doesn't work.

Any Idea's? Does anyone know how I can get it to work?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Nevermind!

I found a Windows Driver and tried installing it. I got it installed, but I had problems connecting to my WEP Signal on my Wireless Router. I kept typing in the Hex and Passphrase many times, but it just wouldn't work. :x

After 30min, and a reboot or two, I just walked away from my laptop. When I returned 5-10min later, it automatically connected and used the key i tried to type in. It connected and now I have internet and everything!! :D :D :D

I don't really know what I did, but hey! It works! When PCs Auto-Fix themselves, It's like Christmas! :D
