RTL8187SE wireless MSI Wind 100 U641

This worked for me...

Use this link for the debian package for Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid

http://boskastrona.ovh.org/download/lin ... 7.7.11.deb (Intrepid, official release)

Also, you must blacklist some of the drivers that came with the Mint 6 distro.

These are:

blacklist bcm43xx
blacklist b43
blacklist b43legacy
blacklist ssb

Restart, and it should be working with no problem

Thanks for that but I fail to see why you have to blacklist Broadcom modules for a Realtek card.....

I don't know. It didn't work until I blacklisted those specific modules...strange.

Strange indeed - they should not be loaded at all...
Well it can't hurt and as you discovered it is necessary just go ahead.
Another computer quirk

msi wind 100

Well,

I had it all working...the wireless that is...then I upgraded Felicia (not to Gloria, just the upgrades through the suggested upgrade list). Now my computer can see all of the wireless connections, but cannot connect. Any ideas? I've tried reinstalling Felicia, reinstalling the RTL8187SE drivers, deleting the connections to the wireless connections and allowing them to be reallocated...nothing.

What do I need to paste here to allow those who speak directly to computers to analyze my wee computers issues?
