Thinking about a new wifi card

Postby infamous on Sat Mar 07, 2009 12:13 pm

I'm thinking about ordering a new wifi card for my eee pc 1000HA. I was looking at some intel models(4965,5100,5300 ect). Does anyone have an opinion on what is the best wifi card for a linux laptop? It has to be a mini pcie type, no usb please. Lower power consumption is more important to me than better range. I want flawless native support, ndiswrapper is not a good solution, it acts funny sometimes. I have done some research but its hard to know what to make of peoples opinions some times. For example people seem to think the wireless card I have is really great, but I can only get it to work right with ndiswrapper. Ideally the card would have an open source module, built by the manufacturer, and included in the latest kernals. The card would have a low power consumption and a good range. Price is not too important. It does not need to be N, but it does need to be G. Any opinions are welcome :) Thanks
