[Solved] Undelete partitions?

Postby rdonnelly on Mon Mar 09, 2009 7:49 pm

I accidentally deleted 2 partitions on my external USB drive in Gparted. OOPS!, I thought it was the USB stick! At this point the partitions were deleted, and nothing else has been done to the drive, I have unplugged it to be safe. Is there any way to undo this? One partions is NTFS and the other is ext3.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I found a utility called TestDisk, that allowed me to recover the partitions. It would not have been the end of the world, as I have another external hard disk that I swap and sync with every month. But I am glad I did not have to recreate a the one I deleted.
