Screen freezing in my UMPC/Netbook

Postby budz10 on Mon Mar 16, 2009 2:37 am

Hello, I just installed linux mint into my Astone UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computer). It has a 7-inch screen, 600 VIA C-7 mhz processor, and 1 gb ram. It doesn't have sound and sometimes the screen freezes. When I run applications such as open office, the screen will partially turn to white which can be removed by pointing the mouse pointer on the white parts. Do I need to install video and audio drivers? If yes, where can I find and how can I install those drivers? Help is very much appreciated.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It's such a special hardware that I don't really know what to say
Please run lspci and post here, but I suspect that it won't help much
Take a look at the solutions for eeepc and Mint you can find in the forum and elsewhere

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
